Undertake training whilst engaged in practical event management throughout this course which reflects the role of the Event Manager responsible for the organisation and management of conferences, festivals and events either in a convention centre, a sporting venue, hotels, theatres or as an external independent event manager. You will be required to assist in organising actual live events at Melbourne Polytechnic and you will have the opportunity to gain paid or volunteer work at festivals, conferences and major cultural and sporting events. This course offers a broad-based point of entry into employment as an associate engineer or a pathway into an undergraduate engineering degree. You’ll study undergraduate-level units including specialisation units in civil, mechanical or mechatronics. You’ll benefit from a supportive vocational environment, including smaller class sizes and more one-on-one time with teachers. Graduates may seek employment as an associate engineer after two years of study, or have the option of progressing to the second or third year (depending on specialisation) of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), where you can choose to specialise in architectural, biomedical, civil, construction, electrical and electronic, mechanical, product design, robotics and mechatronics, software, or telecommunications engineering. The Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology prepares you for occupations such as fashion design, support roles, advanced pattern making, merchandising, marketing, retail buying and supply chain management. The Advanced Diploma builds on the skills within the Diploma and prepares you for the higher technical levels of additional occupations such as fashion design, design and production management, advanced pattern making, product development and management of fashion design systems. Both qualifications are entry-level programs with 35 and 45 core and elective units respectively. Delivery of this course may include a combination of classroom/workshop, industry placement and/or workplace and work-based training and assessment.
