The Commerce/Business Analytics course allows you to develop the skills needed to launch a dynamic career in a competitive global world. Business Analytics will teach you to use commercial business analytics applications to capture and use digital data and information effectively in organisational settings. You will develop industry relevant skills to analyse data and information systems used in organisational settings, to plan the introduction of commercial business analytics applications and to find solutions to common management problems by applying the best business analytics approaches including business intelligence, predictive analytics and social media analytics. Commerce is built around three pillars (financial, market and personal acumens) to provide a common and comprehensive foundation in first year. From second year students extend their knowledge within career focussed, discipline areas (majors and minors). A range of internships and international experiences are offered.
Professional accreditation

The Bachelor of Business Analytics grants eligibility for entry as a Professional member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), Bachelor of Commerce graduates subject to required majors) can lead to accreditation and/or membership with professional bodies such as CPA Australia, CAANZ, IPA, ACCA, FPA and AMII. Commerce is AACSB and EPAS accredited.

Work-based placements available as part of the course

Students are required to complete a Community Based Volunteering unit or a Work Integrated Learning unit. This enables students to enrich their studies while gaining credit towards their degree and develop professional work practices and networks while putting theoretical knowledge into practice.

Additional information

To complete the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Analytics, students must attain a total of 32 credit points consisting of 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Commerce (including one 8 credit point major) and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Business Analytics.

Our high-tech teaching spaces include the state-of-the art Telstra Trading Room where you can get first-hand trading experience in a model of an interbank trading floor and gain real-world insights into the foreign exchange market. Our Cloud campus is an interactive online experience that allows you to study where and when you like.
