If you elect to study the Bachelor of Computer Science in a single degree course, in addition to your choice of specialisation, you will have eight free elective units. These will enable you to further develop your knowledge of your specialisation should you choose, or computer science more broadly.
Alternatively, you can select any units from across the university in which you are eligible to enrol. You might complete a major or minor from another course, perhaps your other talent is music or you want to develop business management skills. You might study a range of units to broaden your knowledge, experience and enjoyment. This could include an extra internship, a global experience or an exchange program - the choice is broad.

The Bachelor of Computer Science enables you to meet the academic requirements leading to professional membership with the Australian Computer Society.

You can apply for the highly regarded IT Industry Based Learning program to do a 1/2 year placement with leading Australian and global organisations. Placements count towards your course and are supported by a generous scholarship.
