Arts at Monash provides a comprehensive gateway to a wide range of fascinating areas of study. Pair this with a degree in Education and you can share that fascination with the next generation of young people.
You will qualify as an expert specialist teacher in two teaching areas, drawing on a wide choice of majors from across the Arts, humanities and social sciences, perhaps literary studies and history, geography and music, psychology and languages, and building a rich repertoire of teaching strategies through your Education studies.
You will be fully equipped to pursue a career as a teacher of adolescents from 12 to 18 years of age, or in a wide range of professions that draw on your degrees separately or in combination.
Travel between campuses may be required.

Arts: 60 credit points psychology major is accredited with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
The type of careers this qualification leads to may include Secondary teaching, TAFE teaching, Youth work, Community education, Editing and Writing, Publishing, and Public Service.
At least 80 days of professional experience will provide you with hands-on teaching practice in secondary schools to connect the theoretical components of studies with the practical aspects of teaching.
Arts Internships will give you access to a broad range of opportunities, working with one of our partner organisations, either in Australia or overseas. You'll learn new skills, build new contacts and networks, and consolidate your learning through reporting and reflecting on your internship experience. Internships are a great way to get practical experience and academic credit towards your degree while exploring your passion and career choice.

Successful completion of all units with a 60% average in the Diploma of Higher Education - Education and completion of a CASPer test at the required standard will enable participants to gain admission into this course.
