Kangan Institute offers well-equipped, purpose-built training facilities that reflect industry needs and practices. They include the Centre for Fashion and Creative Industries in Richmond, Centre of Excellence Health and Community Services in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Broadmeadows, the Indigenous Education Centre for Indigenous Australian studies also in Broadmeadows and the renowned Automotive Centre of Excellence in Melbourne's Docklands which is the largest automotive training facility in the southern hemisphere.

Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology

The Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology prepares you for occupations such as fashion design, support roles, advanced pattern making, merchandising, marketing, retail buying and supply chain management. The Advanced Diploma builds on the skills within the Diploma and prepares you for the higher technical levels of additional occupations such as fashion design, design and production management, advanced pattern making, product development and management of fashion design systems. Both qualifications are entry-level programs with 35 and 45 core and elective units respectively. Delivery of this course may include a combination of classroom/workshop, industry placement and/or workplace and work-based training and assessment. Each qualification comprises core competencies and a selection of electives and the pathway to the diploma will incorporate the certificate III (or competencies from these qualifications).

Advanced Diploma of Accounting

This course is designed to help prepare individuals for job roles in a range of accounting, bookkeeping and/or clerical functions. The Certificate IV in Accounting reflects job roles of individuals who will work in Accounts Payable/Receivable or Payroll and will also be capable to supervise the operation of a computerised accounting system, compile budget information, process business transactions and extract financial and other reports, including Business Activity Statements (BAS). The Diploma of Accounting reflects the job roles of individuals who implement and maintain controls over accounting information systems, prepare financial statements and performance reports for management and prepare tax returns. The advanced Diploma of Accounting reflects job roles of individuals working in the accounting industry and seeking alignment with the requirement of professional bodies. Each qualification comprises core and elective competencies.

This course is for students to develop skills and knowledge with information and communications technology (ICT) systems and network development. Within the classroom, students will learn to install and administer simple networks, servers, and client desktop deployments and troubleshoot issues with them. Working individually and in small teams, students will plan and implement solutions to a wide range of problems. This course will provide you with the knowledge, experience and advanced skills to start your career as a qualified beauty therapist. This course will enable you to build on skills and knowledge over 18 months and gain 3 qualifications. Beginning with the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management where you will develop the underpinning skills and knowledge required to build a relevant and current leader over your first 6 months. You will continue into the Diploma of Leadership and Management for 6 further months building on your skills with the skills to manage people, budgets and organisational processes. Finally you will complete the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management building on these skills to enable you to think and act strategically, making you an asset to any organisation.

Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration

The Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration is all about spaces either domestic or commercial. Working in three dimensions, interior designers need to consider space allocation, building services, furniture, fixtures and surface finishes. This course is not only about the aesthetic elements of decoration it takes into consideration the functional, social, safety and cultural aspects of the environment. This course covers all areas of interior design and decoration, from design philosophies to dealing with customers as well as working with suppliers and drawing up design briefs, and identifying and recommending materials and furniture.This intensive and comprehensive course will give students an understanding of all aspects involved in designing interiors. It puts a strong focus on developing technical drawing skills, three dimensional thinking and presentation methods.Students learn through a practical projects, hands-on studio workshops and individual feedback.
