This combined degree gives you the opportunity to complete an accredited major in accounting, or a major in economics, finance, management or marketing, alongside subjects that combine the fields of biology and medicine. The commerce component of the degree includes team research and entrepreneurial projects aimed at refining your research, presentation, analysis and problem-solving skills. The biomedicine component of the degree includes aspects of anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, genetics, immunology, physiology and neuroscience. You’ll also gain knowledge and skills in applying and conveying scientific research and information. A Bachelor of Biomedicine will provide you with diverse career opportunities in areas such as biotechnology, medical research and the pharmaceutical industry, while also providing possible pathways to graduate entry allied health courses, including physiotherapy, speech pathology, medicine and dentistry.

Masters by coursework of Teaching (Primary)

The Master of Teaching (Primary) is a graduate entry initial teacher education program designed to prepare you to teach as a primary teacher. The program is designed with current research informing the mapping and sequence of knowledge and practices to develop high-quality, career-ready graduates.Areas of focus include: curriculum and pedagogy, assessment and reporting, Indigenous knowing in curriculum design, special education and inclusivity, classroom management for positive learning, discipline knowledge as a specialisation, literacy and numeracy, and ICT across the curriculum. You’ll undertake a total of 60 days’ supervised professional practice in primary or secondary schools. This is embedded in education units to ensure that theory and practice is explored in both University and school contexts. Bachelor of Cybersecurity

La Trobe’s Bachelor of Cybersecurity has been co-designed with industry experts to address the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals. You’ll gain a broad range of skills across IT, business, law, policy and strategic communication. You’ll learn about the history of hacking and explore the various methods used to defend and protect against malicious cyber threats. The course also covers the sophisticated techniques cyber criminals use to manipulate individuals to access confidential information online. As part of your studies, you’ll engage in a range of simulated attacks. You’ll also design and develop a project for a real client, preparing you to step into your first career. To build career adaptability, you’ll have the opportunity to combine cybersecurity with psychology, management, linguistics and international studies. You can further enhance your cybersecurity expertise by majoring in information technology security.

The Bachelor of Computer Science teaches you how to uncover and understand these hidden processes. This combined degree gives you the opportunity to complete an accredited major in accounting or marketing, or a major in economics, finance or management. Herein, you’ll develop the skills to apply your commercial knowledge to the management of health institutions and practices. The Bachelor of Health Sciences allows you to choose from three different scientific discipline majors: public health, rehabilitation counselling, or human physiology and anatomy. The Bachelor of Commerce includes eight common core subjects and a primary major chosen from five business disciplines: accounting, economics, finance, management or marketing. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with businesses in the industry. The common core, which extends through three years of the degree, gives you a broad introduction to business disciplines; the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to social, environmental and business problems; and the chance to learn from business and community leaders.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science is now offered at our Albury-Wodonga and Bendigo Campuses. This is a similar degree to the Bachelor of Biomedicine (offered in Melbourne), with a slightly different set of subjects. You’ll explore the molecular foundations and symptoms of disease, and consider questions that remain around illnesses such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Your second-year subjects will cover a range of areas including bioscience, medical science and pharmacology. These will assist you to choose your area of specialisation. The introduction of anatomy and physiology subjects means you can now consider a pathway into postgraduate studies in allied health fields such as physiotherapy and speech pathology.

Qualify for a professional position in accounting, economics, finance, marketing or management while pursuing your passion for science at the same time. In your first year of study, you'll work in a small multidisciplinary project team to research a social problem and develop an action plan. In second year, you'll undertake a sustainability project to define a solution to a local environmental issue. Throughout the degree, you’ll apply your knowledge and skills to your chosen commerce and science disciplines. You’ll research and analyse social, environmental and business challenges, and work to design and evaluate innovative solutions. The Bachelor of Science gives you access to world-class researchers from our Centre for AgriBioscience and the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science. Master of Exercise Physiology

This degree delivers a postgraduate qualification that combines the study of human movement with an understanding of how exercise is used for rehabilitation, disease management and injury prevention. You'll investigate motor control, exercise physiology, biomechanics and anatomy. You'll learn how to modify health behaviours in the community, and how exercise programs can be used to optimise performance. You'll also learn how to work with groups such as people with disabilities and athletes undergoing rehabilitation. You'll explore how exercise is used to promote health and wellbeing, including the preventative and rehabilitative benefits of exercise for those with chronic illnesses or injuries.  You'll gain hands-on experience through at least 500 hours of clinical placement in varied healthcare settings. Here, you’ll learn how to develop and implement exercise, lifestyle and behavioural programs for people of all ages, gaining the skills to make a difference to people’s lives.

Information systems help businesses streamline their operations with advanced data-storing software. This degree gives you a comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques required to manage these complex systems, while enabling you to understand and apply creative innovative solutions to information challenges. In your first year of study, you'll cover key concepts in IT, programming and information systems, along with the foundations of management, marketing and accounting. In second and third years, you'll go on to study subjects such as the development of information systems and database design. Master of Physiotherapy Practice

Learn to assess and treat patients with physical injuries and movement disorders, helping them achieve the highest possible degree of recovery. You'll begin by studying the fundamentals of health sciences, then develop your skills in physiotherapy and deepen your knowledge in biosciences in second year. Our small class sizes enable a one-on-one connection with staff and fellow students. We strongly emphasise clinical practice. During your clinical placements, you'll gain skills in communicating with patients and working in healthcare teams while learning the fundamentals of physiotherapy practice. You'll also gain experience in a range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centres and private practices. Here, you'll apply your knowledge in areas such as cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy. To gain an even broader range of experience, you may also have the opportunity to undertake part of your clinical experience overseas.
