The Bachelor of Commerce will provide you with the knowledge and technical skills you need to drive your career. It is a flexible course that builds foundation business skills and allows you to explore your options before settling on a path of study. You can wait until the beginning of second year to choose a major, or start specialising in a particular discipline on your first day at university. Depending on your subject choices, you can complete a double major within a three-year degree. You can also complete a breadth sequence in engineering, property or construction as part of the Bachelor of Commerce.You'll have access to a range of activities that complement what you learn in the classroom. This graduate degree package allows you to attain an undergraduate qualification in the Bachelor of Design and a Masters-level qualification in the Master of Engineering. It guarantees high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in the Master of Engineering.  No minimum weighted average mark (WAM) is required in the Bachelor of Design to progress to the Master of Engineering. At the end of the second year, students will nominate which stream of the Master of Engineering they are interested in pursuing and students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Design with an appropriate major (Civil Systems; Mechanical Systems or Spatial Systems) will automatically progress to their nominated stream of the two-year Master of Engineering.

Masters by coursework of Teaching (Secondary)

The Master of Teaching (Secondary) prepares graduates for secondary teaching in a wide range of curriculum areas, and provides a qualification in two learning areas (or a double sequence). Teacher candidates complete 200 points of study over two years of full-time study, or have the option of accelerating their studies to complete in 18 months. The first three semesters focus on teaching in learning areas with a strong emphasis on clinical teaching practice and preparation for independent teaching. This includes 60 days of supervised teaching practice in secondary schools. The course provides options for a research pathway or specialist studies in the second year. Specialist studies include a capstone project and electives to expand professional knowledge in areas of current significance. Place-based electives are also available in indigenous communities, rural schools, alternative educational settings or international schools.

Doctor of Dental Surgery

This graduate degree package allows you to attain an undergraduate qualification in the Bachelor of Biomedicine and a Masters-level qualification in the Doctor of Dental Surgery. It guarantees high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in the Doctor of Dental Surgery. A minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 80% is required in the Bachelor of Biomedicine to progress to the Doctor of Dental Surgery, however applicants are not required to sit the Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) (or equivalent). Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Biomedicine with the required WAM, including passing all subjects which are prerequisites for the graduate degree on their first attempt, will automatically progress to the Doctor of Dental Surgery.The Doctor of Dental Surgery is only available full time (4 years duration).

Master of Teaching (multiple teaching streams available)

This graduate degree package allows you to attain an undergraduate qualification in the Bachelor of Design and a Masters-level qualification in the Master of Teaching. It guarantees high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in one of the streams of the Master of Teaching.  No minimum weighted average mark (WAM) is required in the Bachelor of Design to progress to the Master of Teaching, however students will need to take the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool (TCAT). The TCAT can be completed during Year 12 or during the Bachelor of Design.  At the end of the second year students will nominate which stream of the Master of Teaching they are interested in pursuing and students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Design* will automatically progress to the relevant stream of the Master of Teaching. * Applicants intending to progress to the Master of Teaching (Secondary) must also satisfy the requirements for two learning areas.

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design and Production)

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design and Production) trains world-class designers, technicians, craftspeople and managers.  You will gain experience in all aspects of performance production - set, costume, lighting, multimedia and sound, technology and design, workshop and costume construction, and stage and production management. Through the progression of the course you will be able to specialise in the area of your choosing, including design, technology and stage management. Intensive delivery of skills and practice takes place through studio-based training and direct application of these skills to rehearsals and productions. You will also undertake critical and theoretical studies that introduce you to the diversity of contemporary performing arts practices, and you will have the opportunity to choose electives from other specialisations across the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, or from the University of Melbourne's broad undergraduate subjects.

Doctor of Physiotherapy

This graduate degree package allows you to attain an undergraduate qualification in the Bachelor of Biomedicine and a Masters-level qualification in the Doctor of Physiotherapy. It guarantees high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in the Doctor of Physiotherapy.  A minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75% is required in the Bachelor of Biomedicine to progress to the Doctor of Physiotherapy and applicants will need to satisfactorily complete the multi-mini interview in the final year of their undergraduate degree. Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Biomedicine with the required WAM, including passing all subjects which are prerequisites for the graduate degree on their first attempt, and satisfy the interview requirement will automatically progress to the Doctor of Physiotherapy.The Doctor of Physiotherapy is only available full time (3 years duration).

Diploma of General Studies

The Diploma in General Studies will give you a sample of various University of Melbourne degrees and provides a pathway to further tertiary study. It will provide you with the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects from Science, Commerce, Design and Agriculture - providing some students with guaranteed entry into a University of Melbourne degree based on graded average scores. This gives you a year to decide what you really want to do next, and provides a structured stepping stone to a meaningful outcome; whether that is employment or further study. Full-time students undertake four subjects per semester for two semesters; part-time students undertake two subjects per semester for four semesters. There are two semesters each year. All students must complete the compulsory subject Academic Writing and Communication in their first semester.

The Chancellor's Scholars guarantees very high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in the graduate program* of their choice, plus a range of other benefits complementing the Bachelor of Biomedicine. The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) prepares graduates for dual registration to teach in early childhood settings (birth to 8 years) and across the primary school years (5 to 12 years).The course is completed in 250 credit points of study over 2 years full time. The program provides an in-depth understanding of child learning and development so that graduates can operate in multi-disciplinary fields involving care, education and health.The program integrates curriculum studies and professional practice across the early childhood and primary years, with a specific focus on literacy, and numeracy teaching. Teacher candidates consolidate their learning through completion of a research-based capstone project.
